RMGA Yahoo! Email Groups

RMGA now has two Yahoo! E-mail groups.

RMGA StayinTouch is an announcement-only list to provide information to our friends and adopters faster than we could in a printed newsletter. This is a low traffic list, and we usually add all of our adopters to the list if you include your e-mail address on your application. If you aren't on the list, or if you are just a Greyhound friend who would like to be included, you can go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RMGAStayinTouch/  and join.

Or send an e-mail to:
RMGAStayinTouch-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

RMGADiscussion is an open discussion e-mail group for all of our adopters and friends. One of our adopters, Ken Forman, agreed to moderate the group and help folks learn the ropes. To join this group, you can go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RMGADiscussion

or send an e-mail to:
RMGADiscussion-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Ken has this to say about the Discussion group:

First off, these groups are meant to be destinations to visit. In other
words, you can sit back and receive emails of posted messages, but they are best when you visit the site. Here's a list of reasons to put http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RMGADiscussion/
in your list of browser favorites:

1.
We can share photos of our dogs without filling our email boxes!
A very fun feature of the Yahoo Group is that you can upload digital photos (preferably .jpg format) to the "Photos" section. This takes up ZERO additional disk space on your computer, and lets you easily share your photos with other group members.

2.
A growing list of Greyhound links.
If you would like to find additional resources about Greyhounds, adoption, racing, Greyhound clothes, artwork or even Human clothes for Greyhound owners, take a look under "Links". If you have a good Greyhound link to share, please feel free to add it in!

3.
Share important files with other Greyhound owners.
Did you find the definitive article on Greyhound diseases and want to share it? If it's legal to share (i.e., let's not violate anyone's copyrights), upload it to the "Files" section.

4.
Stay on top of local happenings.
See the "Schedule" for upcoming Meet N' Greets, RMGA events, or other Greyhound related activities. Please email a moderator to have an item added to the Schedule.

5.
Ask for help or share a tip!
There are two ways to do this. The first is through the Messages area, where you can post a message and watch for a reply. Feel free to peruse past questions and answers, or even post your own favorite tips that were given to you by a Greyhound Guru. The second way is to schedule an online Chat session. Just tell folks to
login at a specific time, and have an online Chat session about our
favorite topic, Greys!

6.
Conduct a poll.
Curious about everyone's opinion on best dog food for Greyhounds? Favorite color of dog? Is it better to have 2 males, females, or 1 of each? Go to "Polls" and build your poll. A message will be automatically posted notifying members that there is a new poll being conducted.

7.
Change your own settings.
Want every Message that gets posted to email to you? Maybe you want a daily digest in one email? Or maybe you don't need more email and prefer to read it when you log in. Go to "Edit My Membership" on the top bar, and set it to your personal preference.

Well, hopefully that answers questions people might have, and maybe even generates a little excitement about sharing photos and ideas online!

Feel free to email me directly at info@rmga.org  if you have any questions or suggestions for improvement. If you don't have an invitation, or lost the one you were sent, simply go to:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RMGADiscussion/
and click on "Join This Group". (You WILL need to know your Yahoo login and password.)

Regards,
Ken Forman
