That's Burmar Irish, second from the left. Those beautiful Greyhounds with her are three of her pups from a litter with Wigwam Wag. From left to right you have Bodacious, Irish, Powwow and Dovey. Behind them are Judith and Torri. Irish's first litter was my first experience with Greyhound puppies. I got to see them just long enough after they were born that they were dry. Irish wasn't all that thrilled with them, but I was in heaven. Three cute little black puppies! I sat on the floor of the whelping stall afraid to pick them up. Irish had a better idea, she crawled right in my lap and said she needed attention! I think it was then that I promised her she would live with me some day.
What I didn't know was that she thinks she is a water dog. Show her a container big enough to get a foot in, and it will be there, but a pool is always better!
At 13, Irish is slowing down. She is a little unsteady on
her feet, but, like her littermate, Bermuda, she loves being
outside. She can also still get a
little crazy and even chase her tail! RMGA accepted a tiny puppy for adoption a
while back named Munch (now Minnie). I kept her at my house
for a while, and I wondered how Irish would do with a puppy
around. Well, as you can see, she decided Munch needed a
little Greyhound TLC...
She is one awesome Little Old Lady! HOME
