If you've been thinking about getting a pet and you admire Greyhounds, consider adopting one of these noble, affectionate and loyal dogs. We know that you will be rewarded with many years of love and enjoyment. You will be required to complete a written application (click here for the application in Adobe PDF format) and oral interview. New feature: On-line Adoption Application available. We recommend that you read Adopting the Racing Greyhound by Cynthia Branigan. Her book offers a great deal of information on the breed and what to expect when you bring your companion home. You can also check out our links section for more information on books and websites. RMGA also recommends that you read our Tip Book. It contains a huge amount of information put together over the years. After you are accepted as an adoption candidate, an appointment to meet the dog or dogs which fit with your particular situation will be scheduled. When both you and the dog approve of the match, a contract is signed, and you take home a wonderful companion. In the meantime, make sure you check out the available dogs. RMGA Inc. charges a minimum non-refundable adoption fee of $110.00. In return, you will receive a purebred racing Greyhound which has been examined by a veterinarian, sterilized and inoculated against canine diseases, including rabies. Greyhounds available for adoption are usually between 2 and 4 years old, but we also have some younger Greyhounds who had no interest in racing and older Greyhounds that are retiring from breeding. And we occasionally get an unplanned litter of puppies that need homes. If you feel that a Greyhound may be the pet you are looking for, or would like additional information, please contact one of the following RMGA, Inc. representatives. Our philosophy hasn't changed much over the years: We believe the adopter's entire family, including adults, kids and dogs, should meet all of the available dogs in our kennel to see who might be the "perfect fit" for their family. The interaction between the family and the Greyhound is very important for us - and for the adopter - to decide which dog is the right dog. Please feel free to call or email us if you have any questions or concerns:
